Despite not quite recieving the same amount of recognition of some other well priced laptops, the Acer Aspire 5332 remains one of the best laptops money can buy in the £300-£500 price range. Offering the specifications, functions and details laptops at much higher pricer points do, the Acer Aspire 5332 is renowned for punching above its weight whilst remaining at a rather loveable price.
Brilliant for browsing the internet, incredibly easy to use for work and possessing the ability to double up as a gaming laptop, the Acer Aspire 5332 can suit your every need and then some. With you, the user in mind, Acer have created a laptop that combines class with ease of use, something that in recent years has been difficult to find in the laptop market.
With the sleek black finish, a large 15.6″ screen and 320gb of memory, the excitement of taking your brand new laptop out of its box certainly won’t disappoint. Once you’ve got past the initial looks, I can assure you you’ll be even more pleased by the performance.
320GB of memory is a massive amount, combine that with the 2GB of ram and this machine can really do some wonderful things. If you’ve been dealing with a slow computer or laptop for the last few weeks then you will simply cry with glee at how quickly this laptop performs. Loading internet pages in milliseconds, opening your favourite software in seconds and installing new features in minutes, the Acer Aspire 5332 performs like an olympic athlete on steroids. Speed is everything when you’re looking to browse, work and have entertainment on the move and this certainly lives up to all the hype.
So with everything looking good so far, what about the battery life? The battery life is superb. With a lithium battery coming as standard (lithium batteries are designed to last longer) the life of your laptop off power is as good as anything else I have seen. Of course most of the time it depends entirely on what you’re doing (movies and video will burn the battery faster) but the Acer Aspire 5332 will typically last around 3 hours. Considering most laptops last two hours absolute maximum, Acer have over delivered here and given laptop users what they really want, enough battery for those long journeys to be bareable!
Acer Aspire 5332 – Disappointments
With all the main features of the Acer Aspire 5332 being very good and well above average, it seems unfair to critisize this laptop too much but there are a couple of features which are slightly annoying. Firstly, considering the webcam is of excellent quality it is slightly annoying they didn’t build an in-house microphone. This is not the end of the world for me but for regular users of Skype this could be an issue.
Secondly, I was slightly disappointed not to see Windows Office included with the machine. There is a free 60 day trial included but with Windows Office being one of the most used pieces of software in the world, it would of been nice to see it included FREE of charge.
I recently found out that there are not many laptops that do come with Windows Office so bare in mind, the above comment is slightly unfair.
Acer Aspire 5332 Conclusion
Apart from that, there is really not much wrong with the Acer Aspire 5332. For the £339 price they are asking I don’t think you’ll be able to find better. The large screen and crystal clear picture makes using the laptop a dream. Add the memory, ram, battery life as well as the overall quality build of the laptop and you really do have the making for a fantastic machine that will no doubt deliver everything you need.
I’ve worked hours on this laptop, browsed the internet plenty and even played films and games through it. Every task was performed quickly, efficiently and was thoroughly enjoyable. A year on and my Acer Aspire 5332 is as strong as ever! If you’re looking to buy a mid-range laptop then I don’t think you can look past this. The Acer Aspire 5332 delivers in every area and the same cannot be said for similar laptops…
